Since
the world started utilizing the inventions of science
in technology area. A pelothra of new technologies
boomed in the world horizon. Technology has created
a most important place in every individual's life,
it influences nearly all of us. Mayit be Television,
Telephone, Cellphone, Internet and much much more...
Mostly all the technological innovations have to
rely on to User interface to elevate their technical
complexity to create a more usable product. Technology
in itself could not win over user acceptance and
the user experience about the product developed.
The user interface plays a deciding factor for the
users as nowadays the technological global competition
has provided with much more varieties of each product.
The users before one - two decades back were skeptical
about the concept of user interface and were not
aware of the thing called Simplicity. They were
much more concerned with the functionality. This
situation was pretty obvious, as they did not had
any other options but to orient themselves with
whatever interface the product offered them. Eventually,
times changed as well as technology with new innovations
in field of communications, manufacturing, automoboiles,
computers etc. The industry started concerned about
user experience design, which has a simple idea,
designing the product/application with the user
at the center. This is exactly where user interface
design comes into place. User interface design which
is also called as HCI ( Human Computer Interaction).
Most of the people think HCI related only to software
field, but relates to the fields of Military aircraft,
vehicles, airports, audio equipment etc. In the
late 80's it was the mainframe that hit the market,
in the 90's the GUI hit the software market and
finally in 2000 the internet changed the world by
giving web interfaces. |

User
Interface design is a subset of a field study called
the Human Computer Interaction(HCI). Human-computer
interaction is the study, planning and design of
how people and computers work together so that the
users need can be satisfied in the most effective
way. Hence, the user interface is it the part of
a computer and its software that people can see,
hear, touch,
talk, to or interact
in a way to understand and direct. There are basically
two components in user interface : Input
and Output.
Input is something
how a user communicates his/her needs or desires
to the computer. Some common input components are
Keyboard,mouse, trackball, one's finger (for touch
sensitive screens) and one's voice (for spoken instructions).
Whereas Output
is how the computer conveys the results of its computations
and requirements to the user. Nowadays the most
common computer output mechanism is the Display
Screen, followed by person's auditory capabilites:
